Apparently HMA (see above) will be very busy as they have also been selected by the California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS) as the external consultant team in support of the implementation of Assembly Bill 988. HMA will support CalHHS in the development of recommendations to the Legislature for a 5-year implementation plan for a comprehensive 988 system, including coordination of the 9-8-8 Policy Advisory Board as well as other stakeholder engagement processes. The first meeting of the 9-8-8 Policy Advisory Board will be convened in Fall 2023.
